Associate Attorneys
We welcome inquiries from law students and attorneys who are interested in joining our firm.
Strong academic performance, excellent writing skills and a commitment to meeting the legal needs of clients in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin are factors that we emphasize in our recruiting process.
Firm attorneys concentrate their practice in two or three particular areas of the law, and are therefore able to sharpen skills and keep abreast of current developments in those areas on a more focused basis. As tenure with the firm increases, associates are assigned projects with increasing levels of client contact and responsibility, with a goal toward helping the associate develop his or her own practice within six to seven years. Each associate works with at least one mentor who is responsible for monitoring workload and quality and for ensuring that the associate is appropriately introduced to the firm, its clients, and the community. Associates are encouraged to engage in appropriate levels of community and professional activities. The firm's marketing coordinator helps associates with two or more years of tenure develop individual marketing and professional development plans aimed at helping them acquire the skills, contacts and professional stature necessary to grow and sustain their own practice.
The firm aims to provide competitive salaries and benefits. The following benefits are offered: Paid Time Off, group health insurance, group life insurance, short term disability coverage, long term disability insurance, participation in the firm's 401(k)/profit sharing plan, participation in a section 125 plan, YMCA memberships, paid parking, tuition for continuing legal education courses and reimbursement for related travel expenses, membership fees in social clubs and community service organizations, and membership fees in the American and state bar associations.
Fryberger, Buchanan provides equal employment opportunities and does not discriminate based upon race, sex, color, sexual orientation, age, creed, religion, marital status, national origin, physical or mental disability or status with regard to public assistance. The firm's policies and practices are designed to foster equal treatment for women and minorities, including, but not limited to, employee selection, promotion, training and development, compensation, termination and disciplinary action.
