DULUTH, MN—Duluth-based law firm Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick, P.A. recently announced the addition of attorney Richard Hansen to their Duluth office.
Hansen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. Following law school, Hansen clerked for Judge Louise Dovre Bjorkman of the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and subsequently worked at a large law firm in the Twin Cities for several years. He practices in the field of business litigation.
After attending Dartmouth College for his undergrad in environmental studies, Hansen spent several years working on a start-up business with his father during the worst of the financial crisis. Those experiences taught him a great deal about business and the issues facing entrepreneurs. He feels that the hands-on training he received was a motivating force behind his decision to practice law, as well as to focus on business litigation.
While he spent several years post-clerkship working in Minneapolis, he found himself driving north whenever possible to spend time at the family cabin near Chisholm, or work on the log hunting shack he’d built with his grandfather years ago. As an avid hunter and fisherman with a deep love of the outdoors, a move to Duluth and the Fryberger Law Firm was a natural fit.
